Sonic R maps.
« on: April 30, 2007, 12:26:33 pm »
Uhm, I looked through the Sonic R PC folder  and found the four maps, They're pretty small, but better than nothing? However, here they are:

Resort Island:

Radical City:

Regal Ruin:

Reactive Factory:

And behold, the amazingly detailed map of Radiant Emerald:

>_>

I'm pretty sure the Gems Collection has higher-resolution ones, but getting these is far beyond my haxx0r skillz.

If there's an AR code for a free camera mode in Sonic R or something then I could probably get some better pics of maps or something

but not now, I've got finals or something coming up

Gems seems to have higher res maps, but I know no way to rip the images.  Also, it does not have a map of Radiant Emerald.

I'm also not aware of a free camera AR code for the game.

Taking pictures from actual gameplay might not work as well, since some walls are one-sided,
and there are lots of gaps. Maybe if the PC version's courses can be extracted somehow.
Like importing the models with something like Blender, and then filling in the problem areas.
(And that would allow for easy and perfect camera positioning.)
I tried something like that with a boating simulation game, but I could only make exports work.
